
Wildcats Set For A-10 Outdoor Championships

The Davidson men's track and field team is set to compete at the 2026 A-10 Outdoor Championships in Fairfax, Va on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.
During the regular season, the Wildcats broke school records in five events and two Wildcats lead the A-10 in their respective events.
Field Event Highlights
John Teachman reset the program record in the javelin with a throw of 64.79m at VertKlasse Meeting on April 3, 2026. Teachman currently ranks first in the A-10 in the javelin and sixth in the Southeast Region. The sophomore won a gold medal in the javelin last season at the conference meet. He is the first Wildcat to accomplish this feat.
In addition to Teachman, Matthew Yaun has also made a significant mark in javelin as a freshman. Yaun's season-best throw of 59.80m ranks second in the A-10 this season.
Masson Heiny is set to make a splash in the hammer throw this weekend. As a freshman, Heiny has posted the top four best marks in this event in program history. The Richmond, Ind. native recently threw 54.12m at the Charlotte Invitational on April 24, 2026. Heiny ranks seventh in the A-10 in the hammer throw.
Track Event Highlights
Sineth Andrabadu currently holds the fastest 100m and 200m times in the Atlantic 10. Andrabadu ran 10.49 in the 100m at the Wake Forest Invitational on April 16, 2026. The freshman also ran 20.99 in the 200m at that same meet. Andrabadu is the program record holder in both events.
The 4x100m relay team also set the program record on March 19, 2026 with a time of 40.98. The group consisted of AJ Kurtz, Jackson Steffen, Carter Calliott, and Sineth Andrabadu.
AJ Kurtz, John Cooper, Daniel Cortese, Malcolm Cook, and Corbin Weltzien all rank inside the top 15 in the A-10 in individual events. Kurtz ran 10.74 in the 100m and ranks 13th in the league. Cooper ranks seventh in the A-10 with a time of 14:16.35 in the 5000m. Cortese ran 3:48.33 in the 1500m, which ranks 14th in the A-10. Weltzien holds the ninth-fastest 110mH time (14.65) in the A-10.
