Smith moves on to NCAA Quarterfinals, Teachman concludes historic season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Davidson Wildcats had two scholar-athletes compete in the first round of the NCAA East Regional Wednesday, highlighted by 2024 All-American Jayden Smith advancing to the quarterfinals of the 110m hurdles.
 
Smith won his heat and posted the night's eighth fastest time, 13.80 seconds. The four-time Atlantic 10 Champion, entered the postseason with the nation's 13th best time, which he set in his most recent run of 13.39 seconds at the conference meet. Smith returns to the track Friday evening at 6:15 p.m.

John Teachman completed his historic freshman campaign in the javelin with a throw of 61.02 meters (200'2"). The first-ever Wildcat to win gold in the event at the A-10 Championships, Teachman set a school record earlier this season with a mark of 64.02 meters.
