Lambert, Wildcats Soar Past Eagles

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Through snow and freezing temperatures, the Davidson lacrosse team prevailed to a 16-4 victory over Winthrop University Wednesday night.
Powered by Josie Lambert's career-high seven goals and one assist, the Wildcats peppered the Eagles with 43 shots, while Davidson's defense held Winthrop to just eight shots on goal.
Davidson's Adrienne Leone also produced a four-goal outing, as the junior attacker knotted all four during the second half of play.
After a 6-3 start in the first, the 'Cats dominated Winthrop in the final 30 minutes of play with a 10-1 scoring surge to secure the win.
Jenna Skibbe (2), Kella McGrail (1), Jacqueline Callahan (1) and Allie Hartnertt (1) also added goals, while Devyn Martinez, Riley Cochrane and Callahan dished assists to the Davidson attack.
In the backfield, Kayla Joyce stopped four shots and Reagan Terrell led the way with four caused turnovers. In total, Davidson caused 21 turnovers and won 10 draw controls.
