DAVIDSON – Despite 19 points, 14 rebounds and five assists from Reed Bailey, Davidson fell 77-69 to Loyola Chicago in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Tuesday evening inside John M. Belk Arena.

The Wildcats, who got 29 points from their bench, including a season-high 12 from Manie Joses, fell to 15-11 overall and 5-8 in league play.

The 'Cats, who shot just 37.9 percent, also got double figures from Connor Kochera (13) and Hunter Adam (11).

Trailing 53-42 at the 10:20 mark, Davidson once again clawed its way back, eventually tying the score 60-60 thanks to a Kochera 3-point play. Loyola Chicago (17-9, 8-5 A-10) responded with a Des Watson 3-pointer, sparking an 11-2 run to go back in front for good.

Jayden Dawson paced four Ramblers in double figures with a game-high 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Watson added 15, while Miles Rubin and Sheldon Edwards Jr had 14 and 11, respectively.

After Davidson erased an early 10-point deficit to take its first lead on a Bobby Durkin jumper, 24-22, the Ramblers closed the opening 20 minutes on a 10-4 spurt to go into the half up, 32-28.

Loyola Chicago shot 42.9 percent and made 11-of-31 from long range.
