CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati used a big second-quarter run on the way to a 68-50 victory over Davidson in women's basketball action Wednesday night.
Candice Lienafa had a career night for the 'Cats, scoring a team-high 18 points on a 7-of-9 showing from the floor, including two made 3-pointers. Mallorie Haines and Millie Prior grabbed a team-best six rebounds each, while Sienna Dauer dished out a roster-high four assists.
Davidson got off to a solid start offensively, leading 14-11 at the conclusion of the first quarter, connecting on .417 percent of its shots and out-rebounding the Bearcats 11-6.
The 'Cats shooting efforts stalled in the second, where they tallied just four points to Cincinnati's 23 from a .500 shooting effort from the field and from 3-point range.
The Wildcats were outscored by just two points in the second half (34-32); however, they were not able to overcome the deficit, sealing a Cincinnati 68-50 win.
Tineya Hylton and Jillian Hayes combined for 40 of the Bearcats points with 20 apiece, while Alliance Ndiba brought in 11 rebounds.
