'Cats Bounce Back With Win Over Wofford

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Issy Morgan scored a career-high 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished five assists to propel Davidson past Wofford 74-63 in non-conference women's basketball action on Saturday night.
The result improves Davidson to 2-2 overall, while the Terriers also move to 2-2 on the young season.
Katie Donovan (17) and Kyra Bruyndoncx (14) joined Morgan in double figures, while Candice Leinafa added nine of her own.
The Wildcats dropped a season-best 11 3-pointers, including a 7-of-10 effort in the second quarter, and shot 49.1 percent from the floor.
After Lienafa knocked down a triple at the end of the first quarter, which cut Davidson's deficit to one, the Wildcats' offense took off in the second.
A Lienafa layup later tied the game at 22-all and ignited a 24-7 Davidson run that pushed the 'Cats ahead 44-29 at the intermission. During that run, Bruyndoncx, Morgan and Jasmine Timmerson knocked down two 3-pointers apiece, as Davidson ended the first half 9-of-15 from beyond the arc.
The 'Cats controlled much of the game's momentum for the remainder of the contest, and led by as many as 18 points, 64-46, after Donovan knocked down her second trey of the evening with 7:58 to go in the game.
The Terriers spat out one final run, scoring nine-straight to cut the Davidson lead to nine, 64-55, with just 5:04 to play, but the Wildcats held off the late Wofford surge to ultimately secure the 11-point victory.
Davidson won the battle on the glass 38-27 and dished 15 assists on 26 made field goals.
