WINSTON-SALEM - The Davidson women's basketball team played Wake Forest closely through all four quarters in a hard-fought, 60-55 non-conference loss on the road Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 2-3 on the season, while the Demon Deacons improve to 4-2.
Issy Morgan (11), Katie Donovan (11) and Tomisin Adenupe (10) led the Davidson scoring efforts on the afternoon while Mallorie Haines brought in a roster-high four rebounds.
The Wildcats traded baskets with the Demon Deacon over the first two quarters while using an efficient 53.8 shooting percentage to hold a slight 30-29 lead at the halftime break. Adenupe was a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor over the first half of action, while the 'Cats missed just six of their shot attempts.
Coming out of the break, Davidson controlled the third quarter, outscoring Wake Forest 14-9. However, the Demon Deacons took firm control of the fourth, going 7-of-12 from the field while holding the 'Cats to just 11 points, on the way to a 60-55 victory.
Demeara Hinds (14 points, 7 rebounds) led the way for the Demon Deacons.

Davidson promptly returns to action when it hosts Big South competitor Presbyterian inside John M. Belk Arena at 6 p.m. Sunday.
