Women Set for 2024 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Highlighted by three Top-3 showings this fall, the Davidson Women's Cross Country team will take part in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships Saturday at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.
Hosted by the University of Richmond, the women will compete in a 6K race for just the second time in A-10 history with the start time set for 10 a.m.
Ranked as high as 14th in the Southeast Regional Ranking earlier this season, the Wildcats are led by senior captain Anne Berquist, who turned in a personal best 21:34.4 in her most recent race.
"We've been preparing for this moment and are very much looking forward to this weekend's cross country championships," said Director of Cross Country / Track & Field Jen Straub. "Our ladies have put together a number of great performances in preparation and we hope to continue the momentum."
Junior Molly Sullivan paced Davidson at the Queens City Invite (Sept. 13) and Pirate 6K Invite (Oct. 4), while freshman Abby Smith has been named A-10 Rookie of the Week on separate occasions this fall.
In its last competition, the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia, seven of Davidson's eight runners recorded personal-best times on the 6K course.
Following the 36th annual conference meet, the Wildcats will take part in the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Winthrop in two weeks.
