Whitworth Leads ‘Cats in Louisville; Berquist Shatters Personal Best

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Davidson's Frances Whitworth finished 35th out of 325 competitors to pace the Wildcats at Louisville's Live in Lou Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Whitworth, who was the top collegiate runner two weeks ago in Davidson's season opener, finished the 5k course in 17:43.7, just nine seconds out of the Top-25.
Clemson's Gladys Chepngetich (16:43.4) claimed the individual title, while Grand Valley State placed seven runners in the Top-35 to lead the 37-team field.
Junior Anne Berquist (18:21.8) was also very impressive for the 'Cats topping her previous personal record by 15 seconds.
Molly Sullivan (18:47.2), Mary Shoop (19:00.3), Hallie Stewart (19:26.3), Katie Deacon (20:35.1) and Justine Meta (20:44.6) also ran for the Wildcats this weekend.
