Women Return to Course Friday at Royals Challenge

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's cross country team returns to the course Friday afternoon at the Royals Challenge hosted by Queens University.
Scheduled to start at 5:05 p.m., the Women's Gold 5k will take place on the Larry McAfee Course at McAlpine Park.
Earlier this season, senior Frances Whitworth set a new personal-record at McAlpine, running a 17:26.7, which was also the 10th fastest time in program history. In addition, she finished as the top collegiate runner at the Queens City Invite on Sept. 15.
A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Whitworth was also the 'Cats' top finisher this past weekend, placing 35th out of 325 competitors at Louisville's Live in Lou.
Davidson's Anne Berquist was also impressive her last time out, shattering her previous personal-best by 15 seconds and finishing in 18:21.8.

Davidson will return to action next weekend at the East Carolina Invite in Greenville, N.C.
