MTE UPSIDES
• The Wildcats walked away from the 2023 Asheville Championship 1-1, winning a three-point game over Maryland (64-61) and dropping a three-point contest to Clemson (68-65).
• The win marked Davidson's first over the Terps since 1968 and fourth overall, and was Matt McKillop's biggest in his brief head coaching tenure, as Maryland was a top-30 team (KENPOM 29) entering the Friday night matchup.

SMOOTH CRIMINAL
• Davidson newcomer Angelo Brizzi was a defensive threat at the Asheville Championship, picking up seven steals and two blocked shots.
• The Villanova transfer earned six steals alone against Maryland, marking the first time a Wildcat has had five or more steals in a game since Jon Axel Gudmundsson had five against George Mason in January 2019.

BOBBY BUCKETSTM
• In just his first three games of college basketball, freshman Bobby Durkin has been sensational.
• The Illinois native shot 4-of-8 (13 pts) in his collegiate debut against Washington & Lee, and topped that with a 5-of-8 effort from the floor, including four three's, against Maryland last Friday night.
• The rookie leads the 'Cats in scoring with 12.0 points per game, shooting 54.5% from the floor and 53.3% from three-point range.

FOND MEMORIES
• On January 27, 2003, then-freshman Matt McKillop came off the bench and scored a season-high 24 points during an 80-71 win at East Tennesee State.

ALL EYES ON G
• Among Matt McKillop's 10 returners include Preseason All-Defensive selection Grant Huffman.
• Huffman's recognition marks Davidson's first preseason or postseason A-10 All-Defensive Team honor and is just the second defensive conference nod for a Wildcat, after Max Paulhus Gosselin's 2009 SoCon Defensive Player of the Year award.
• A two-time team captain, Huffman is averaging 10.3 points, 5.3 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game through the first three contests of the season.
• The Ohio native is 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and shooting 39.3% (11-28) from the field while running the Wildcats' offense.

THE LAST TIME
• Davidson and ETSU last met nearly 19 years ago, in a nail-biter that made former head coach Bob McKillop the all-time leader for Southern Conference victories.
