Men's Cross Country Prepped and Ready For A-10 Championships

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson College men's cross country team is set to run at the Atlantic 10 Championships this Saturday. The men's 8K race is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio.
So far this season, the Wildcats have had three individual top-five finishes from both junior Grahm Breiter and freshman John Cooper. Breiter kicked off his fall season by winning Lenoir-Rhyne's SAC Preview back on Sept. 9 after finishing the 8K course in 26:36.16. Davidson also won the event with 32 points.
At the team's next outing, the Wildcats finished third at the Queen City Invite and was paced by Cooper. The California native took third with a time of 25:15.42, and Breiter wasn't far behind when he secured a fifth-place finish by stopping the clock in 25:27.84.
In their most recent event, another freshman paced the 'Cats when Liam Hagerty secured a top-50 finish at the USC Upstate Invitational on Oct. 14. The Severna Park, Md., product ran a season-best time of 25:36.8 to finish 47th out of 275 competitors.
Over their last eight appearances at the A-10 Championships, Davidson has four top-10 team finishes, which came most recently in 2021, when the 'Cats took sixth. Also, Davidson has had an all-conference performer in each of its last four outings at the conference championship, led by Owen Drometer, who cracked the top-15 for three consecutive years (2020-2022).
Also competing in the Davidson lineup tomorrow afternoon will be Ryan Harris, Owen Lekki, Daniel Cortese and Liam Maurillo.
