'Cats Head South for 2022 A-10 Championship

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's tennis team is ready to embark on the Atlantic 10's 2022 Championship this week, set to kick things off on Friday, April 29 as the #4 seed.
The Wildcats will take on #5 Richmond in the quarterfinals at 9 a.m. from USTA's National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
Davidson ended the regular season at 7-11 overall, while going 2-1 against Atlantic 10 opponents. The 'Cats picked up a pair of 4-1 victories against Richmond and George Mason in the final weeks of the regular season, and dropped a 3-4 thriller to Dayton in early April.
In singles play, the Wildcats are led by rookie Udday Singh who has an 8-6 overall record and is the lone 'Cat with a winning record in solo play. The Chandigarh, India native has gone 4-5 from court three in his debut season, and an impressive 4-1 at No. 2.
Senior Brooks Green follows Singh with the second-most singles victories this season, at 7-8 overall, including winning two of his last three bouts.
On the doubles side the Wildcats have hit their stride, led by top duo Alejandro Solares and Singh, who are 6-5 overall with a 5-5 slate at court one. Davidson's No. 2 duo of Maxwell Kachkarov and William Clark are 4-1 overall including 3-0 against A-10 foes.
Last season, Davidson's run at the A-10 tournament came to a close in the semifinals after a loss to eventual champions and No. 1 seed VCU.
