Wrestling to Wrap up Dual Slate Sunday Against Campbell

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Wrestling hosts their final dual of the season Sunday, Feb. 23 against Southern Conference leading Campbell. The first bout from Belk is slated for 2 p.m.

Wildcat freshman 125 pounder Cian Fischer has won five of his last seven bouts and paces the squad with six pins. Fischer sits at 9-7 overall and 3-1 in SoCon matches. For his efforts, he was ranked 27th in his weight class by WrestleStat. Sophomore Kyle Gorant looks to head to championship season with the team-lead in wins. The 133-pound 'Cat has had his hand raised 10 times this season.Â
SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell entered the week with five grapplers ranked among the nations best. The Camels have been consistently ranked for six straight weeks. At number 14 this week in the InterMat poll, it is the highest they have been all season. CU has won eight straight with their two losses all season coming against fellow ranked opponents, Pittsburgh and Arizona State.

The Wildcats head to the Southern Conference Championship Sunday, Mar. 8 hosted by Appalachian State. The first round from Boone, N.C. is slated to start at 10 a.m.Â
