PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Cameron Brown drilled a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining to complete a Saint Joseph's comeback and lift the Hawks over Davidson, 73-72, Tuesday night inside Hagan Arena.
The Wildcats fall to 13-12 overall and 7-6 in league play, while St. Joe's improves to 5-21 and 1-12.
Saint Joseph's, which shot 65.6 percent in the second half, started to chip away at a double-digit deficit early in the period and used a 20-7 run late to grab its first lead of the game, 67-66, with 2:28 to play.
After trading buckets to find themselves deadlocked 70-70, Luka Brajkovic made a driving layup with 10 seconds remaining to put the 'Cats back in front.
Brown led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including four threes.
Davidson stormed out to a 19-2 advantage highlighted by five early treys, including three from Carter Collins. The Wildcats pushed the margin to as many as 21 in the opening half before going to the break up, 40-21.
Like the Hawks in the opening 20 minutes, the 'Cats failed to connect on a 3-pointer after intermission.
Despite the setback, Kellan Grady paced four Davidson players in double figures with 20 points. Collins and Brajkovic added 16 each, while Hyunjung Lee scored 12 off the bench.
