ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – In addition to five scoring in double figures, including a pair of double-doubles, Davidson shot 55.9 percent and drilled 13 3-pointers as the Wildcats cruised past St. Bonaventure, 93-64, Friday night inside the Reilly Center.
The 'Cats, who improve to 13-11 overall and 7-5 in league play, have won 13 straight on Valentine's Day, while improving to 10-0 under head coach Bob McKillop.
Kellan Grady scored 16 points, while Jon Axel Gudmundsson posted his fifth double-double, and nearly missed a triple-double, with 14 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Hyunjung Lee also scored 14, and Luka Brajkovic added 13 points. Nelson Boachie-Yiadom scored in double figures for the first time in his career and also notched his first double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
After falling behind 10-5 early, Davidson responded with a 28-8 stretch, highlighted by five of its eight first-half treys to take a 33-18 lead. The 'Cats would lead by 23 in the opening period before taking a 47-28 advantage into the half.
The Wildcats' balanced effort included 38 bench points, 24 assists on 33 made field goals and a season-high 7 blocks. Davidson hit 13 of 26 3-point attempts, as seven players connected from deep, including Grady and Lee, who hit three treys apiece.
Davidson, which also controlled the glass, 41-25, pushed its lead to as many as 31 on a Patrick Casey free throw with just under a minute to play.
Kyle Lofton paced the Bonnies (17-9, 9-4) with 15 points.
