WILDCAT SCRATCHES
• Davidson enters 6-8 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 play following a 69-58 setback at Rhode Island Wednesday.
• The Wildcats, who just concluded a stretch of nine of 10 on the road, played 11 of their first 14 away from home.
• Its been 32 days since Davidson played a game on McKillop court.
• The Wildcats have won 28 of their last 31 at Belk Arena.
• The 'Cats are 59-33 in A-10 regular season play, including 14-4 last year, and 68-38 including A-10 tournament play.
• Junior Kellan Grady continues to lead Davidson in scoring at 15.9 points per outing.
• Junior Carter Collins (11.7), senior Jon Axel Gudmundsson (11.1) and sophomore Luka Brajkovic (10.0) are also averaging double figures for the 'Cats.
• Head coach Bob McKillop is one win shy of his 350th conference victory.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Fatts Russell scored a game-high 26 points to lead Rhode Island past Davidson, 69-58, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Wednesday evening inside the Ryan Center.
• Despite the setback, Carter Collins paced four Wildcats in double figures with 12 points. Backcourt mates Kellan Grady and Jon Axel Gudmundsson added 11 points each, while Luka Brajkovic had his second straight double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.
• The Rams grabbed control with a small spurt midway through the second half and pushed the lead to 11, with 4:47 to play.
• Davidson cut the deficit to four on a Grady floater with 50 ticks left, but was unable to inch closer in the closing seconds.
• The Wildcats shot just 36.5 percent from the floor, which included a 4-of-23 effort from long range. Rhode Island finished with a 44.4 percent clip and got to the line 20 times, making 15.
• In a back and forth opening 20 minutes, Rhode Island carried a 34-30 lead into the half thanks in part to turning eight Wildcat miscues into 13 points at the other end.
 
LAST TIME VS. SAINT JOSEPH'S
• Jon Axel Gudmundsson and Kellan Grady scored 18 points each and Davidson closed on a 10-0 run to defeat Saint Joseph's, 70-60, in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship on March 15 at the Barclays Center.
• Gudmundsson, the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, also finished with 11 rebounds and 6 assists for his ninth double-double of the season.
• Luka Brajkovic and Carter Collins also scored in double figures for Davidson with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
• After Charlie Brown hit a pair of free throws to even the score 60-60 with 2:21 to play, Gudmundsson sparked the Wildcats' game-winning spurt with a 3-point play and dunk in consecutive trips to put his club up for good.
• Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half, which featured eight ties and eight lead changes, before Gudmundsson's reverse layup beat the horn and put the 'Cats up 27-26 at the break.
 
UP NEXT
• Davidson will host Richmond Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
• The Wildcats' first of two meetings with the Spiders will be televised on ESPNU.
