DAYTON, Ohio — Dayton hit all 13 of its combined shots from the floor and at the free-throw line in overtime and Davidson was unable to answer in falling on the road, 83-69, Wednesday evening in Atlantic 10 women's basketball inside UD Arena.
The Flyers (14-10, 9-4 A-10) forced overtime on a layup with two seconds to go in regulation, and then went 3-for-3 from the field and hit all 10 of their free throws to secure the win. They moved to 11-1 on their home floor.
The Wildcats' (15-11, 9-4 A-10) shots never fell in overtime, going just 1-of-12 from the floor including 0-for-6 on threes.
Despite the tough setback, Sarah Donovan (21) and Justine Lyon (20) gave the 'Cats a pair of 20-point scorers on the night. The duo also led the team with nine rebounds each and Davidson as a team hauled in 52 rebounds with 20 on offense.
Katie Turner scored 12 points and dished out five assists, while Kyla Roland had eight rebounds off the bench.

A commanding opening to the fourth quarter by the Wildcats had them leading by 12 (57-45) and just over six minutes left. They opened the quarter scoring 10 points in less than two minutes, with Lyon (6) and Donovan (4) scoring all 10.
The lead would hold until late in the quarter when Davidson went cold in the final 3:21, scoring just five points and Dayton used a 12-5 run to tie it up and force overtime.
Dayton had a 37-30 lead in the third quarter, but the 'Cats charged right back with an impressive 10-0 run to end the quarter up by three.
Despite hitting just 5-of-16 shots to start the game, Davidson did just enough to grab an early 13-11 lead at the end of quarter one. The defense held the Flyers to 5-of-17 shooting in the quarter.
The lead would switch to the Flyers after they opened the second quarter on an 11-4 run to up 22-17 with 3:40 to go. But the 'Cats came back, holding Dayton scoreless in the final 2:33 and got a combined nine points from Donovan (5) and Lyon (4) in the last two minutes to take a 26-24 lead at the break.
