For the second time since joining the Atlantic 10, the Davidson volleyball team will participate in the conference's postseason tournament.

The Wildcats enter as the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 Saint Louis in Friday's first round. The match is set for 6 p.m. at Rhode Island's Keaney Gymnasium, and the winner will advance to face No. 2 Dayton in Saturday's semifinals. VCU earned the top seed with an unbeaten conference record, and George Washington and La Salle enter as the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively, in the six-team event.

"We're obviously excited about returning to the A-10 tournament, but that isn't our end goal," said Davidson coach Chris Willis. "Like everyone in the conference, we want to win the tournament. It started with qualifying, and our next step is to prepare to compete against Saint Louis. We'll be making a few adjustments to our game plan, based on our match last week. The keys to most competitions are execution and effectively making adjustments. The 'Cats are thrilled to be playing this weekend and hungry for our first win."

Davidson's first appearance in the A-10 tournament came in 2016, when the Wildcats lost 3-1 to Saint Louis in the opening round.

Last time out
The Wildcats will meet the Billikens for the second time this season and also the second time in less than a week. The teams battled to a five-set match last Sunday, with Saint Louis emerging with a 3-2 victory, clinching it with a 15-11 win in the fifth.

Davidson posted a 25-23 win in the first set and a 25-22 win in the third.

Wynn-ing again and again
Freshman Madeline Wynn has earned four A-10 Rookie of the Week honors this fall.

The middle hitter from Savannah, Ga., was honored Sept. 16, 23 and 30 and Oct. 28. She ranks fourth in the A-10 with a .346 hitting percentage and with 1.12 blocks per set.

'Cats among league leaders
Sophomore outside hitter Hattie Rodriguez was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 4, after posting 39 kills in a two-match weekend. That included a then-career high 22 against George Washington.

Rodriguez later had 26 kills against Fordham on Nov. 9. She ranks fifth in the league with 3.39 kills per set.

Junior middle hitter Ellie Crosley ranks second in the league with a .393 hitting percentage, and junior setter Sydney Champaigne is third with 9.44 assists per set.

Milestones
Libero Josie Treadwell surpassed the 1,000-dig mark for her career this season, giving the Wildcats two players with at least 1,000 digs. Fellow senior Elise Edman reached the mark last season.

Willis earned his 200th career coaching victory with a 3-1 win over Duquesne on Sept. 27. He registered his 100th win at Davidson on Nov. 3 when the Wildcats defeated George Mason 3-1.
