DAVIDSON, N.C. – In his final home game, Jack Gibbs scored a game-high 29 points as Davidson held off St. Bonaventure, 68-63, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Tuesday night at Belk Arena.
One of five seniors (4 players, 1 student manager) honored prior to tip, Gibbs went 10-of-23 from the floor and was perfect at the charity stripe (5-5), en route to his 42nd career game with 20 points or more.
Peyton Aldridge also scored in double figures with 11 points for the Wildcats, who shot 50 percent after intermission to finish at 43.6 percent.
Like Davidson (15-13, 8-9 A-10), the Bonnies shot just over 43 percent, but struggled at the free-throw line going 14-for-24 (.583).
The Wildcats opened the second half on a 12-4 spurt and pushed the margin back to 11 twice. St. Bonaventure (18-11, 10-7 A-10) slowly chipped away and got to within three on separate occasions, including with six seconds to play, but was unable to inch closer.

Davidson, which started 7-of-9 from the floor, led 26-12 with 7:15 left in the first 20 minutes, before the Bonnies' closed on a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to 29-26 at the half.
