ELON, N.C. —
Freshman Alexandra Abele pushed her singles win streak to six straight, but it was not enough as Davidson fell to former Southern Conference foe Elon on the road Saturday, 5-2, in women's tennis action.

The Wildcats had their mini two-match win streak snapped, falling to 5-2, while the Phoenix moved to 7-3. The 'Cats still lead the all-time series 13-6.

With a pair of 6-2 wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles, Elon grabbed the doubles point. It then captured wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 singles to finish off the team win.

Abele improved to a team-best 6-1 on the season when she tallied a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles, her first at the position.

The final Wildcat team point came from Megan Scholvinck at No. 2 singles where the sophomore scored a 7-6, 6-2 victory. It ran her record to 5-2, with a mark of 4-1 at No. 2.
