SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Peyton Aldridge scored a game-high 24 points to lead Davidson past Saint Louis, 77-66, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Sunday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.
A junior from Leavittsburg, Ohio, Aldridge finished 6-of-9 from the floor, including three 3-pointers, and made all nine of his free throws.
Will Magarity poured in a career-high 17 points to go along with 9 rebounds, while Jack Gibbs added 15 points. Jon Axel Gudmundsson also turned in a solid performance for the 'Cats with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists.
As a team, the Wildcats drilled 11 treys and finished with 19 assists on 26 field goals.
Davidson (8-6, 1-2 A-10), which got 15 points from Aldridge and shot 57.7 percent in the opening 20 minutes, carried a 47-28 lead into the break.
In addition, Gibbs and Magarity scored 10 points each in the first half for the 'Cats, who closed the period on a 13-2 spurt.
After the Billikens used nine unanswered to cut the deficit to 64-58 with 5:41 to play, Davidson responded to put the game out of reach.
Mike Crawford led the way for Saint Louis (4-11, 0-3 A-10) with 16 points.
