DAVIDSON, N.C. – In addition to a fast start, Fordham closed with a 15-4 run to get by Davidson, 60-54, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Wednesday night at Belk Arena.
Peyton Aldridge led the way for the Wildcats with 18 points, while Jack Gibbs added 11.
On three separate occasions, Davidson (8-7, 1-3 A-10) led by five in the second half, including 52-47 with 4:38 to play. The Rams responded with eight straight points capped off by a Joseph Chartouny trey to retake the lead for good.
Javontae Jenkins (17), Antwoine Anderson (15), Chartouny (11) and Prokop Slanina (10) scored in double figures for Fordham (7-10, 1-3 A-10), which held the Wildcats to just 28.9 percent from the floor.
Despite not making its first field goal until the 11:34 mark and going 4-of-21 from the floor in the opening period, Davidson trailed by just three at the break, 28-25.
After falling behind 11-0, the Wildcats, who went 14-of-18 from the line in the first half, used an 11-2 spurt to go up 23-22 on a Jon Axel Gudmundsson trey with 1:52 left.
Davidson finished the night 21-of-25 (.840) from the charity stripe.

Davidson will wrap up its brief homestand with a 2 p.m. contest against VCU Saturday afternoon.
