PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Despite a combined 58 points from Peyton Aldridge (33) and Jack Gibbs (25), Davidson fell on the road to La Salle, 91-83, Thursday at Tom Gola Arena.
Aldridge, the reigning A-10 Co-Player of the Week, went 13-of-25 from the floor, including five 3-pointers, while grabbing 9 rebounds (6 offensive). Gibbs finished 8-of-15 to go along with a game-high 7 assists.
In addition to shooting 57.4 percent and converting 14-of-16 at the charity stripe, the Explorers were led by Jordan Price, who finished with 29 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
La Salle (11-5, 5-1 A-10) also got double figures from B.J. Johnson (19), Pookie Powell (14) and Amar Stukes (12).
Price scored 21 points in the first half and capped off a 16-2 run by the Explorers with a trey at the buzzer to give his club a 49-40 lead at the break.
In a period that featured nine lead changes, the Wildcats jumped out to a 10-2 advantage and later led 38-33 with 4:05 left in the half.
After Davidson (9-8, 2-4 A-10) cut the deficit to 49-45 early in the second half, the Explorers responded with a 12-3 spurt to push the margin to double digits. The Wildcats slowly chipped away and got to within 82-79 on a Gibbs' 3-point play with 1:41 left, but was unable to inch closer.
Davidson finished with 20 assists, drilled 13 3-pointers and shot 47.7 percent from the floor.
La Salle scored 52 points in the paint and held a 35-27 margin on the glass.

Davidson returns home Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip against Duquesne. At halftime, the student section will be named in honor of the school's all-time leading scorer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry.
