GREENVILLE, N.C. — Davidson saw its three-match win streak come to an end in a hard-fought 7-0 match at East Carolina Saturday afternoon in women's tennis.

Despite getting blanked, all six of the Wildcats (3-2) singles matches were tightly played with two of them going into third sets.

Anna Catharine Feaster and Ava Todd both pushed their singles matches to a third set at No. 1 and 2, but were unable to keep their three-match win streaks going. Feaster won her first set, 6-3, but came up short in a pair of close 6-4 sets.

Todd split her first two sets with 6-3 scores, but also fell short in a 6-4 decision in the final set to fall to 3-2 on the season.

Elaina Cummer also had her three-match win streak halted with a 7-5, 6-3 defeat at No. 5.

At No. 3 and 4, the freshmen duo of Megan Scholvinck and Gabrielle Centenari won nine and eight games, respectively, but fell in straight sets by scores of 6-4, 7-5 and 7-5, 6-3.

In the 'Cats' final singles match, Sarah Stein went down to the wire with her Pirate (4-3) opponent before falling in a pair of tie-breakers to drop two 7-6 sets.

Davidson returns home next to face UNCG, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. in a make up match that was canceled Jan. 24.
