CANCUN, MEXICO — Playing in its first-ever regular season games outside the United States, the Davidson women's basketball team is set to take part in the Cancun Challenge over Thanksgiving this Thursday and Friday inside the Convention Center at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.
The Wildcats (0-4, 0-0 A-10) will face Toledo on Thanksgiving day at 4 p.m. and then face Idaho State the next day at 4 p.m. as well. This will be the first time they have faced either team.
OPENING TIP: Quick Hits ...
•Davidson is in its 38th season and has collected 415 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their third year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
•Davidson returns eight letterwinners and three of its five starters from last year's 11-19 team.
•Head coach Michele Savage is in her 7th year (90-104) and has yet to face Toledo or Idaho State.
Last Game Out vs. Radford, Nov. 19 ...
•Davidson nearly erased a 13-point deficit before time ran out resulting in a tough 44-40 defeat to visiting Radford last Saturday night at home.
•Down 27-14 with 4:40 left in the third quarter, the Wildcats would score 15 of the next 24 points that spanned to the end of the third quarter and into the start of the fourth quarter, and then used an 11-2 run to get within two points (42-40) after a triple by Chloe Johnson with 15 seconds left.

•Mackenzie Latt scored 10 points and pulled in a season-best nine rebounds to go with two blocks.

•Latt has or will be ranked in the top-15 all-time in the record books during her third season. The junior has a chance at 1,000 points this year, needing 190 points to reach the milestone.
•The forward already ranks in the top-15 in career scoring average (9th, 12.7), field and blocks (12th, 58), while ranking just outside the top-15 in rebounds, field goals made and steals.

•The Wildcats are traveling outside the United States for the first time in program history during the regular season by taking part in the Cancun Challenge.

•Though the Wildcats are not playing for a tournament title at the Cancun Challenge, they have a record of 27-36 during in-season tournaments since the 1992-93 season.
•The Wildcats have won six in-season tournament titles, including last year's UNCW Thanksgiving Tournament.
