RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond got off to fast starts in each half and shot 57.4 percent, including 14 3-pointers, as the Spiders defeated Davidson, 89-63, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Saturday inside a sold-out Robins Center.

Kendall Anthony (25), TJ Cline (23) and Terry Allen (21) each hit the 20-point plateau for Richmond (10-8, 3-2 A-10), while Alonzo Nelson-Ododa contributed 15 off the bench.

The Spiders, who shot 57.1 percent in the first half, raced out to a 22-8 lead after opening 9-of-13 from the floor, including four 3-pointers. They stretched the margin to as many as 18 in the period before going into the break up, 42-27.

Despite the loss, Tyler Kalinoski scored 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting and four triples for the Wildcats, who held a 30-26 edge on the glass. Brian Sullivan also added double figures with 10.

Just like the first 20 minutes, the Spiders started fast in the second using a 20-6 run, sparked by three consecutive treys, to push their lead to 62-33 and put the game out of reach.

Davidson (12-4, 3-2 A-10), which defeated the Spiders two weeks ago in its first-ever A-10 game, shot just 40.0 percent, while going 6-of-22 from long range.

In addition to leading by as many as 31, Richmond finished with 25 assists on 31 field goals.

Davidson returns home Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. nationally-televised contest (CBSSN) against Dayton.
