CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Continuing on their five-match road swing, the Davidson Wildcats headed down the road to face rival Charlotte and dropped a 6-1 decision to the 49ers in a cross-county women's tennis match on Tuesday afternoon.

The 49ers (13-2) rolled to their 13th win by taking all three doubles spots (8-3, 8-1 and 8-5) and then taking five of the six singles matches on the day.

Davidson (3-12) rested its top two players and switched up its lineup a bit, but it could not help the Wildcats from dropping their eighth match.

Katharine Dicconson (Pacific Grove, Calif.) scored the Wildcats lone point, winning her fourth match of the season as she earned her first career win at No. 1 singles. The senior picked up a 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) win over Alexandra Zinn.

Freshman Blake Nickles (Anderson, S.C.) played in her second career match, falling 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6. She also teamed with Frizzi Bschorer (Barnin, Germany) at No. 3 doubles, dropping a 8-5 decision.

Davidson returns to Southern Conference play with a trip to Statesboro, Ga., for a 11 a.m. match against Georgia Southern, March 31.
