Layup Line
• For the second consecutive campaign, Davidson opens its Southern Conference schedule with two road games in Charleston.
• The Wildcats play at College of Charleston Thursday before taking on The Citadel Saturday.
• The Wildcats are in the midst of a stretch where they play 10 of their first 13 games away from home.
• College of Charleston has played six of its first seven away from home. Their lone home contest of the season was an 83-67 win over Coastal Carolina Nov. 16.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 69-53 victory over Monmouth in their home opener Monday.
• Four 'Cats are averaging double figures in the scoring column, led by JP?Kuhlman's 12.5 points a game. Brendan McKillop and De'Mon Brooks average 11.8 a contest, and Jake Cohen averages 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.
• The Wildcats have 10 underclassman on the team (six freshman, four sophomores) and feature just one senior and four juniors.
• Davidson was picked to finish third in the SoCon South Division again this season, while College of Charleston was picked second.
• The Cougars are coming off a 74-69 loss at North Carolina last Sunday.
• Davidson and CofC share one common opponent, Rhode Island. The Runnin' Rams defeated the Cougars 75-66 in a neutral game in the 2K Sports Classic Nov. 19, and topped Davidson 71-58 at home Nov. 27.
• SoCon Preseason Player of the Year Andrew Goudelock leads CofC in scoring with 23.7 points a game, while Jeremy Simmons averages 14.6 points and 5.4 rebounds.
• The Cougars shoot 48 percent from the floor and 36 percent from 3-point range.
• Davidson coach Bob McKillop is 14 wins shy of his 400th career victory.

Series History
• Davidson leads the all-time series, which dates back to the 1926-27 season, 48-12, but the Cougars have won three of the last four, including a 67-55 decision Dec. 5, 2009, in the last meeting in Carolina First Arena.
• The Wildcats are 21-8 against the Cougars on the road, 1-1 in Carolina First Arena and 16-6 under Bob McKillop.
• College of Charleston's Jeremy Simmons recorded 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Cougars to a 67-55 victory in the last game in Carolina First Arena.
Will Archambault scored all 10 of his points in the second half to lead the Wildcats, and Jake Cohen tallied eight points and eight rebounds. Bryant Barr added eight points and six boards off the bench.
Will Archambault's 24 points led four Davidson scorers in double-figures as the 'Cats used a late run to take a 86-71 win over CofC in the last meeting of the series.
• Archambault scored a season-high 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 3-point attempts and 4-of-5 free throw attempts, while adding five rebounds, three assists and a block.
JP Kuhlman matched his career-best scoring total of 19 points by going 8-for-14 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc, while adding three rebounds and three assists.
Steve Rossiter recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards to go along with three assists and two blocks.
• Cohen tallied 15 points and five rebounds.
• After seeing the lead change seven times in the second half, Davidson held just a slim 68-67 cushion with 7:32 to go. The 'Cats took control from there though, outscoring the Cougars 18-4 throughout the remainder of the game to secure the win.
• Andrew Goudelock and Tony White, Jr. led College of Charleston offensively with 22 points and four rebounds each. Donavan Monroe scored 10 points and pulled in two boards.

Youth Movement
• Davidson features 10 underclassmen (four sophomores, six freshman) on its roster.
• The team's lone senior is Brendan McKillop, and two of the juniors are walk-ons (Will Reigel, AJ Atkinson).
• The Wildcats have just 11 total years of Division I experience in their rotation. Only 25 teams in the country have less experience than Davidson.
• Six of the top seven scorers for the Wildcats are freshmen or sophomores.
• One senior, three sophomores and a freshman are slated to start tonight's game.

Freshman Starters
• Freshman Tom Droney started the season opener at Penn, becoming just the ninth rookie to start the season opener during Bob McKillop's tenure and the first since Stephen Curry in 2006.
• The list includes current assistant coach Landry Kosmalski, who started the 1996-97 opener at Fairleigh Dickinson.
• Fellow frosh Jason Zimmerman and Scott Alford started the 1990-91 opener against Central Connecticut State.
• Other freshman starters in season openers: Detlef Musch at Wake Forest in 1989; Jeff Anderson vs. St. Joseph's (Maine) in 1992; Wayne Bernard at Siena in 1999; Jouni Eho vs. South Florida in 2000.
