The 'Cats wouldn't go quietly and put together a five-run ninth. Jay Honeycutt reached on a walk to start the frame, and Shane Hammond followed with a single. After Matt Ray reached on an error to load the bases, Will General provided a pinch-hit, two-run double to make the score 13-6.
Shore drove in another run with a groundout, the first out of the inning, and Weiss plated two with a single to center field, making the margin 13-9. The 'Cats had runners on the corners with two outs, but Ian Parry got Honeycutt to strike out to end the game.
