The Alumni Stadium is dedicated solely to the varsity soccer programs. The complex is state-of-the-art, featuring a 120'-by-'75 plush, natural grass playing field, bleacher seats for 2,000 fans, a brick clubhouse that includes men's and women's locker rooms, a scoreboard, lights for night competition, and another brick structure with restrooms, concessions, and a ticket booth.
The complex was built on the site of the previous soccer field. Officially dedicated on November 2, 2004, the new Alumni Stadium was fully functional for the 2005 season and is named in honor of the contributions from Davidson soccer alumni.
As part of Alumni Soccer Stadium, 1992 Team Field is a top-notch playing environment. Named after the 1992 men's soccer team that competed in the NCAA College Cup, the field is sodded with Bermuda and rye grass, the state-of-the-art surface includes a sophisticated drainage and irrigation system, allowing it to absorb large quantities of water and accommodate games during inclement weather.
The Andrews Gatehouse provides the formal entrance for the soccer-specific facility at Davidson. The brick structure includes the ticket booth, concession area and guest bathrooms. The gatehouse is named for Peter Andrews, Class of 1959 in honor of his wife Susan Donald Andrews.
Inside the soccer clubhouse are the men’s and women’s locker rooms. The men’s locker room at Alumni Stadium is named for legendary men’s soccer coach Charlie Slagle, Class of 1974.
