Amanda Bellissimo joined Davidson Athletics as the Assistant Cheerleading Coach in 2022. Before moving to North Carolina, Bellissimo cheered at Rocky Point High School in New York, where she had an accomplished competitive career. As an athlete, she earned five regional titles, four Long Island Titles, two top-10 UCA finishes, and two back-to-back UCA National Championship titles.
After graduating from Rocky Point in 2012, Bellissimo completed a Medical Assistant degree in 2013 and returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2014. In her first year on staff, she helped lead Rocky Point to another UCA National Championship, two additional regional titles, and a top-3 national finish in 2015.
Since joining Head Coach Kaylee Smith in 2022, Bellissimo has played a key role in elevating Davidson College Cheerleading’s national presence. In her first season with the program, Davidson earned a fifth-place finish in the UCA Game Day Small Coed division. At the 2024 Championship, the team advanced to finals again, placing third in semifinals, and finishing ninth overall in the nation.
After taking a season away to welcome her son, Bellissimo returned to the Wildcat coaching staff for the 2025–2026 season, bringing her experience, energy, and championship mindset back to the program.
Bellissimo relocated to North Carolina when her husband joined the United States Air Force. She currently resides in Mooresville with her husband, their two dogs, and their son, Michael, who was born in the fall of 2024.
