VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The Davidson men's track & field team concluded competition at the 2026 A-10 Indoor Championships on Saturday. The Wildcats tripled their scoring total from last season and doubled their point total based on projected entries heading into the championship.
"Our team is a young team," said head coach Matt Stuck. "29 of our 36 scholar-athletes are freshmen or sophomores. We tried to use this indoor season as a growth period and we accomplished that goal."
John Cooper wrapped up a strong performance at the A-10 Indoor Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 3000m (8:23.62). Cooper was one of just two people who scored in both the 5000m and the 3000m over the weekend.
Eli Roth earned second place and took home a silver medal in the 800m final (1:51.09). This is a new PR for Roth and also now the fourth-fastest indoor 800m time in program history.
AJ Kurtz ran 6.91 in the 60m final and finished fifth overall. In the 60m hurdles, Corbin Weltzien was sixth in the 60m hurdles final (8.38).
Edward Brown posted a PR in the shot put with a mark of 15.11m and finished in sixth place. Brown is one of four Wildcats to throw as far as 15.00m in the shot put joining Brady Logan, Jack Stajos, and Will Funderburg.
Peter Darst set a PR in the high jump with a 1.96m mark and then broke that PR again with a 2.02m jump. Darst's previous PR before the A-10 Indoor Championships was 1.88m. The sophomore finished seventh overall in a stacked high jump field.
Finally, all three relay teams for Davidson scored at the A-10 Indoor Championships. The DMR ran 9:59.13 on Friday night and then the 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams followed suit on Saturday. Jack Fischer, Seamus O'Driscoll, Daniel Cortese, and Liam Maurillo put down a time of 7:48.57 in the 4x800m relay and scored three points. Connor Rittenhouse, Bradley Cruthirds, Tyler Thompson, and Sineth Andrabadu ran 3:19.83 in the 4x400m relay and also scored three points for Davidson.
