WILMINGTON — Four Davidson divers, including three women, reached the finals on Friday, the first day of competition at UNCW's five-team Seahawk Diving Invitational.
Senior Elle Jacobsen had the top finish, placing second in the women's 3-meter competition with a score of 274.20 after ranking fourth in prelims. She was joined in the top eight of the 17-diver field by teammates Laurel Coppedge (7th, 220.30) and Annie Kessner (8th, 217.45).
"All three of them put some very good dives down," said Davidson diving coach Greg Ferrucci. "Elle was solid in moving up to second in the finals."
Dyson Nevels led the Wildcat men with a fourth-place finish in the 1M. He posted a score of 262.25.
"He hit his inward two-and-a-half tuck in both prelims and finals for big points," said Ferrucci.
