DAVIDSON — Four event wins, including two from sophomore Henry Shoemaker, highlighted Davidson's swimming and diving meet against Duke Friday evening in Cannon Pool.
It was the Wildcats' home opener and the first of three meets they'll host this season.
Like he did in the season opener at Queens last week, Shoemaker earned wins in the 500 and 1,000 free. He touched at 4:36.25 in the 500 and at 9:32.33 in the 1,000.
Two freshmen added wins for Davidson. Elliott Darr won the 200 back in 1:51.42, while Grady Gospodarek led a 1-2 Davidson finish in the 200 fly. Gospodarek touched in 1:52.67, with teammate Robby Votta next (1:53.68).
Up Next
The Wildcats will compete in the Richmond Duals Oct. 9-10.
