Collins, Naaktgeboren Named to A-10 Preseason Team

WASHINGTON — Davidson field hockey players Sib Naaktgeboren and Matilda Collins are on the 11-player Atlantic 10 Conference Preseason Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Collins and Naaktgeboren both received A-10 Second Team honors following the 2024 season, and Naaktgeboren was also recognized last preseason.
Naaktgeboren, a senior midfielder and forward, is a two-time A-10 Second Team honoree and led the Wildcats with five goals and 14 points last year. She also ranked atop the A-10 with 3.40 shots and 2.0 shots-on-goal per game.
Collins, a junior back and midfielder, was an A-10 All-Rookie pick in 2023 before joining Naaktgeboren on the Second Team a season ago. She helped bolster the Wildcats' defense, while also contributing three goals and two assists.
Also on Tuesday, the Wildcats were voted fourth in the seven-team league's preseason poll.
The Wildcats open the 2025 season Friday against Georgetown in a game held at Towson.
