
‘Cats Wrap Up Opening Round of Tallahassee Golf Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Will Tharin carded an opening round one-over 73 to pace the Davidson men's golf team on day one of the 2025 NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Tomorrow's second round will begin at 7:30 a.m. off the first and 10th tees.
Joshua Stewart (+2), the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, is one back of Tharin. Nate Faulkner (+5), Will Davis (+6) and Davis Sayman (+10) are also in the Davidson lineup.
The host Seminoles, lead after 18 holes of play thanks to an opening round 14-under 274. In addition, Florida State's Luke Clanton, who entered fifth nationally, holds the top spot on the individual leaderboard at six-under.
Notre Dame (-7) is seven back of the Seminoles, followed by Ole Miss (-6).
The 14-team regional features eight programs ranked inside the Top-50, including the No. 3 Rebels, No. 11 FSU and No. 15 San Diego State.
The Wildcats, who signed for a 302, are just eight back of the Aztecs and No. 27 Louisville (+6).
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 12-14. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Texas is the host institution for the 2025 championships.
