‘Cats Set to Compete in 2025 SoCon Wrestling Championship

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Under the direction of third-year head coach Nate Carr Jr., the Davidson wrestling team will compete in the 2025 Southern Conference Championship this weekend inside Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville.
Weigh ins are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday followed by opening round matches, which are set to begin at 12:30 p.m. See below for the complete schedule of events. The finals will take place Saturday starting at 2:30 p.m.
Seedings for the 10 weight classes were released by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
Nine squads will compete for the 2025 SoCon title with 13 NCAA allocations available for the NCAA Championships.
The SoCon earned two NCAA allocations each at 133 pounds, 141 pounds and 197 pounds. The remaining weight classes earned one allocation each, which is the automatic qualifier for the conference tournament champion.
On Thursday, the SoCon announced its 2025 postseason accolades. Davidson's Tyson Sherlock (141 pounds) and Bryce Griffin (165 pounds) were named to the league's All-Freshman team as voted on by the head coaches.
