Felt Wins Third A-10 Gold in the 500 Free

HAMPTON, Va. — Dylan Felt won the 500 freestyle for the third consecutive year to lead Davidson's swimmers and divers on Thursday, the second day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
Felt, a junior, touched the wall in 4:17.17, less than a second off his A-10 record from a year ago (4:16.58). The Wildcats secured 47 total points in the 500, as Davis Moore took seventh (4:30.63) and Fletcher Smith (10th, 4:30.92), Jackson McDonald (12th, 4:31.79) and Robby Votta (14th, 4:31.95) swam in the consolation finals.
Felt also teamed with Guil Ware, Mitch McClain and Liam McDonough on the fifth-place 200 free relay (1:20.53). McDonough (10th, 1:49.25) and Ryan Shute (15th, 1:50.92) swam in the 200 individual medley consolation finals, and Ware was 13tth in the 50 free (20.43). Diver Garrett Sablich was 11th in the 1-meter (256.75).
The Davidson women's top finish came in the 200 free relay, where Addy Donaldson, Brooke Mahoney, Ginny Thorsen and Claire Chason took sixth (1:33.05).
Donaldson added 10th-place points in the 50 free (23.17), while Anna Newman (10th, 2:02.09) and Mahoney (14th, 2:03.44) swam in the 200 IM consolation finals. Thorsen was 13th in the 500 free (4:55.27).
Through 14 events, the Davidson women are tied for fifth with La Salle among 11 teams, while the Wildcat men are fifth among eight teams and just one point behind third-place La Salle and St. Bonaventure.
