
Kirk Takes Second at Michigan State Open

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Cody Kirk continued the impressive start to his collegiate career by finishing runner-up at the Michigan State Open Saturday inside historic Jenison Field House.
Coming off winning the freshman / sophomore 184-title at the Southeast Open last weekend, the freshman recorded a pair of wins today before falling to Central Michigan's Gavin Craner in the finals.
A native of Pike Road, Ala., Kirk punched his ticket to the title match with triumphs over Bradley Mayse (7-4) and Matthew Kubas (5-3).
Through two weekends of competition Kirk has an overall record of 6-1.
Luke Passarelli (125), Marley Washington (141), Anwar Alli (165) and Marc Koch (174) also picked up wins at the Spartans annual event.

Davidson will travel to the Northeast next weekend for duals with Brown and Sacred Heart.
