11/6/2025 9:47:00 PM | Women's Basketball
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Kyra Bruyndoncx scored 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including four 3-pointers to lead Davidson past William & Mary, 71-50, in non-conference women's basketball action Thursday night inside Belk Arena.
After going just 5-of-14 (.357) from the floor in the first 10 minutes, the Wildcats connected on 55.5 percent (20-36) of their attempts over the final three to conclude the game at 50 percent.
Davidson (1-1) was just as impressive on the defensive end limiting the Tribe to just 30.4 percent and forced 19 turnovers.
Charlise Dunn added 11 points for the second time in as many contests for the 'Cats, while Edina Strausz hit double figures for the first time in her career with 11 of her own.
Davidson, which limited the Tribe to just one field goal in the opening quarter, pushed the lead to 14 on separate occasions in the first half before going to the break up, 32-26.
Despite its first basket not coming until the 9:28 mark, William & Mary (0-1) got four straight treys from Cassidy Geddes midway through the second frame to cut the deficit to 25-23.
The 'Cats pushed the margin back to double digits in the third with a 15-3 spurt and never looked back.
Geddes led the way for the Tribe with a game-high 20 points but was just 7-of-24 from the field.
