CEDARVILLE, Ohio – John Cooper became the first Wildcat on the men's side to earn all-conference honors in cross country since 2022. Cooper finished 15th overall with a time of 24:29.60 at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championships. The junior was in 27th place through 3K (9:03.3) and moved up to 18th at the 6K mark (18.22.9).
"John ran an exceptional race," said coach Andrew Allden. "He just kept moving up the whole time and ran his best race of the year when it mattered the most."
Cooper ran a PR in the 8K 24:24.37 at the Dill Family Foundation Invitational, hosted by ECU, earlier this season.
"This is a much harder course than ECU," explained Allden.
Quinn Swanton and Alex Thole rounded out Davidson's top three finishers. Swanton ran 24:56.20 and was the third-fastest true freshman on the men's side at the A-10 Championships. Thole ran 25:04.80 and shaved nearly a full minute off his 8K time at the A-10 Championships last year.
Thole, Swanton, and Cooper all finished inside the top 50.
"I can't say enough about how those three guys ran," said coach Allden.
Graham Boles, Eli Roth, Ryan Harris, Parker Bartlett, and Seamus O'Driscoll also competed on the course for the Wildcats.
Davidson finished in 11th overall as a team with 266 points. Loyola Chicago finished in first place overall as a team.
