DAVIDSON, N.C. – Behind even-par rounds of 72 from Will Davis and Joshua Stewart, the Davidson men's golf team sits in fourth place following round one of the 2024 River Run Collegiate.
Due to heavy rain and unplayable conditions, tournament officials have shortened the annual event to 36 holes. Tomorrow's second and final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The host Wildcats opened their fall season with an 11-over 299, which puts them one back of East Carolina (+10) and Delaware (+10).
Loyola-Chicago (+5) leads the 11-team field at 293.
Competing as one of two individuals for Davidson, junior Price Miller also signed for a 72 Monday. The Wildcat trio of Davis, Stewart and Miller are one off the lead currently held by Gardner-Webb's Will Spicer (-1).
Clayton Couey (+5), Nate Faulker (+6) and Davis Sayman (+9) are also in the Davidson lineup.
