DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team dropped their Friday night SoCon dual match to No. 26 App State, 44-0.
App State moved to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the SoCon while the Wildcats fell to 1-14 overall and 0-6 in the SoCon.
The final match of the night was the narrowest as Jake Fernicola had two third-period takedowns to make it a tied match. Fernicola also nearly had back points, which later, head coach Nate Carr Jr. challenged the no-call, but the original call of no points stood. Jacob Sartorio got the edge via riding time to earn the victory.

The Wildcats will have a quick turnaround as they head to VMI tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. for their final road SoCon dual of the year.
