'Cats Drop Saturday Match to No. 19 Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio – In their second-to-last regular season series, Davidson volleyball fell 3-0 to No. 19 Dayton from inside the Frericks Center on Saturday afternoon.
The 'Cats dip to 13-14 overall and 9-7 in league action, while the nationally-ranked Flyers extend their 19-game win streak to improve to 26-1 and 16-0 against A-10 opponents.
Davidson went toe-to-toe through the start of set one and tied the game at 9-9, after one of Anna Withee's four kills of the match, but the Flyers closed out on a 16-4 run to win the first 25-13.
Dayton maintained control of the contest, swinging .347 at the net while holding Davidson to a .018 attacking percentage. The Flyers also produced eight total blocks compared to the Wildcats' four.
Xuan Nguyen dished 10 assists in the loss, and Jordan Hummel picked up 16 digs.

Rhode Island comes to Belk Arena next weekend for the Wildcats' final regular season series. Davidson will host the Rams on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
