‘Cats Climb into T-4th with Three Sub-Par Rounds at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – In addition to a three-under 68 from senior Will Davis, Davidson's Joshua Stewart and Clayton Couey signed for rounds of 70 as the Wildcats climbed into a tie for fourth after two rounds of the 2024 Furman Intercollegiate.
 
The two-day / 54-hole event is being played on the 7,131-yard, Par 71 Furman University Golf Course layout.
 
Davidson (+8), which opened with a 295, bounced back with a three-under 281 to join USC Aiken in fourth on the 15-team leaderboard.
 
Texas A&M (-13) leads the host Paladins (-12) by one stroke, while Wake Forest (-10) is three off the pace.
 
Davis (-2), one of three Wildcats in the Top-25, sits tied for 10th, five strokes off the individual lead held by Texas A&M's Phichaksn Maichon (-7).
 
Stewart (+1) is tied for 19th, while the freshman Couey (+2), is one back in 23rd following his lowest collegiate round.
 
Davis Sayman (+7/61st) and Jackson Bode (+11/76th) are also in the Davidson lineup this weekend.
 
Nate Faulkner (+13) is competing as an individual.
 
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin Sunday morning at 8:20 a.m.
