DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson volleyball strung together its third 3-0 sweep in four matches on Friday night, defeating Queens University from inside Belk Arena.

The 'Cats improved to 4-0 with the win, and have dropped just one set through the first  four games of the season.

In an offensive affair, the Wildcats hit .186 at the net and defended 135 attacks from the Royals, as senior Bella Brady picked up a season-high 28 digs. Freshman Elena Garcia-Guerrios backed the libero with 24 digs and seven kills on the outside, while Xuan Nguyen ended the night with 12 digs and 18 assists.

Kayla Davis paced the offense with eight kills on 15 attempts (.533) and a game-high four block assists.

Sola Omonije and Mia Compas brought Belk Arena to its feet with a monstrous block early on in the first set, leading Davidson to a 12-5 run right out of the gates. After a kill from Anna Withee forced the Royals into a timeout, Queens bounced back and pulled within three of Davidson, 14-11. Jackie Bardin and Davis ended the Royals' run there, with a block on the outside that eventually pushed the 'Cats the 25-16 set one win.

Davidson struggled offensively in the second set, connecting for just two kills on its first 16 swings of the frame. Queens ultimately pulled ahead 18-11, before setter Jessie Doyal led the 'Cats from the endline and tied it 18-18 thanks to a kill from Isabella Perry. With kills from Garcia-Guerrios, Compas and Omonije, the Wildcats managed to escape to their 2-0 lead with a 25-22 win in the second.

Garcia-Guerrios carried momentum into the third frame for Davidson, leading off the set with a pair of aces before Queens took a 12-10 lead. After a timeout, Davis churned out her seventh kill of the day to tie things at 15-all, before kills from Emma Slusser and Davis, plus a service ace from Jordan Hummel, put the 'Cats back in front for good.
