DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's Frances Whitworth continues to add to her list of postseason accolades as the senior has been voted to the 2023 Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country All-Academic team as announced by the conference office Friday afternoon.
"I'm extremely proud of Frannie and her accomplishments thus far," said Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Jen Straub. "She continues to show outstanding dedication and commitment to being a true scholar athlete. We look forward to her continued success on the track this spring."
Davidson's school-record holder in the 6K, Whitworth finished third at the Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Championships in late October, earning a spot on the all-conference squad.
Whitworth, a native of nearby Winston-Salem, N.C., concluded her final campaign on the trails with three Top-3 showings, including a pair of runner-up finishes. In addition, she set a new personal best in four of her five races.
To be considered for the A-10 All-Academic team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and eligibility-wise, be a starter or significant contributor, and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better.
