DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a season-best fourth-place showing, Davidson will head to Dayton, Ohio, this weekend to compete in the 2023 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships.
The women's 6k will take place Saturday, October 28 on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course with a 10:50 a.m. start time.
Since joining the A-10 in 2014, the Wildcats have recorded three Top-5 finishes in the conference championship, including a program-best third place in 2017.
Davidson is led by Frances Whitworth, who has recorded a pair of runner-up finishes this fall. A senior from nearby Winston-Salem, Whitworth began the 2023 campaign with a personal-best 17:26.64 at the Queen City Invite Sept. 15.
In the 'Cats' lone 6k event this season, she ran a 21:17.5, also a new personal record, to come home second at East Carolina's annual event.
Anne Berquist has been just as steady for the Wildcats with three Top-15 showings, highlighted by a personal-best sixth place at ECU the last time out. In each of her last two 5k events, she recorded new PRs, including an 18:13.19 at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte. Following the event, she was tabbed A-10 Performer of the Week.
Hallie Stewart, Molly Sullivan, Jocelyn Millican and Isabella Godoy will also compete for Davidson this weekend.
