Whitworth and Berquist Finish Top-10 at ECU Invite

GREENVILLE, N.C. – In addition to a new personal record, Frances Whitworth finished second out of 85 competitors and teammate Anne Berquist came home sixth, to lead the Davidson women's cross country team at the 2023 ECU Invitational Saturday morning.
Whitworth completed the 6k Lake Kristi course in 21:17.5 for her second Top-5 of the campaign, while Berquist continued her impressive junior season finishing with a time of 22:23.4.
"Franny turned in another impressive performance with a huge 6k PR," said Director of Women's Cross Country / Track & Field Jen Straub. "Anne and Molly continue to improve each week as our goal remains to be running our best come the A-10 Championships."
The Wildcats' Molly Sullivan also finished inside the Top-20 with a run of 22:44.3.
Davidson, as a team, finished fourth out of 10 schools, just six points out of second-place. The host Pirates claimed the team title with four Top-10 finishes and 52 total points.
Hallie Stewart (23:42.5), Jocelyn Millican (23:47.1), Lilly Sirover (25:48.1) and Harrison Grooms (26:07.2) also competed for the 'Cats this weekend.

Davidson will have a two-week break from competition before returning to action Oct. 28 at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Dayton, Ohio.
